Going to California // Led Zeppelin

Out 11/15/24 on Mother West Records!!!  "Late Bloomer"

"This ambitious pianist nails the mark every time. Whether covering epic and iconic songs on solo piano, composing, or leading jam sessions, he's an increasingly hot service provider on the Piano Instrumentalist circuit"

The Village Voice

Hallelujah // Leonard Cohen

"Superb musicianship! From high-wire instrumental gymnastics to black-tie acoustic grand piano, blues, funk, rock, broadway, jazz, and even hip hop, there isn't a genre he can't launch into his art rock orbit."

Dear Friends, I was lucky enough that my parents identified what I loved (the piano) and were resourceful, dedicated and persistent enough (and loving enough!) in their pursuit of my learning.

With influences found in Jazz/Blues (Oscar Peterson, Harry Connick), Classical (Brahms, Liszt), Modern Rock (Rage Against the Machine’s Tommy Morello), all have shaped the pianist I am today....mixing classical and jazz performances of contemporary music and standards alike.

I’ve also been lucky enough to travel, live in cool cities (LA and outside of NYC) and to play with and for some amazing musicians including Brian McKnight, Dave Navarro, Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Steven Schwartz, Kara Dioguardi (this was featured on Los Angeles' CBS2 news), Michael Bolton, Vanessa Williams,The Roots, Pharcyde, Jon Scofield, Los Lobos, The Samples, DJ Shadow, more Broadway and Theater vocalists than I can count, and was a member of the critically acclaimed Blind Man’s Sun, and the LA pop group (with my brother Bob), Balance.  I now reside in the Philadelphia region, and lately have been performing regularly at Hard Rock Casino's Council Oak Lounge in Atlantic City, Bowman's, Odettes, and Roof in New Hope, and recently at Varnish in Los Angeles.  I also perform in EBE  Band, Paris, in Pure Soul's Concerts Undert the Stars and Candlelight Concerts, am the Musical Director at both Holy Innocents St. Pauls and at Grace and the Incarnation Episcopal Churches.

In May, I signed a record deal with Mother West Records (LA) and have my first album coming out with them on 11/15

In October, I had the amazing opportunity to reunite with my Blind Man's Sun brethren for a show at City Stock in LA.  And will performing with them again this Decmber 20 in NYC at Brooklyn Made.  All very exciting stuff for me!

It’s all been such a blessing. It would be impossible to articulate all the joy and fulfillment music, the piano and all of the relationships I've made, has brought to my life...my only hope is that by playing for others, I can share even a piece of that love and light.

I hope you all enjoy the recordings and video I release here.  Till we meet again.

JD

"Jd's 14 minute "1...4" is a cut that really demonstrates his ability to weave Allman Brother's-like jamming with classical influences creeping in."
